Ourika Valley, at the foothills of the High Atlas Mountains, is only a 45 minutes south-east of Marrakech. The valley offers a great escape from the heat of Marrakechfor the locals during summer months.
This budget day trip to Ourika Valley from Marrakech is ideal for nature lovers and light trek into one of the small size waterfalls, or just relax and have a snack at one of the local cafés united the shade of the walnut trees next to the stream.
Start your full-day trip to Ourika Valley at 9:00 AM via the fertile Haouz Planes, and a stop at the ladies' cooperative to learn about the production of high-quality cosmetics and the extraction of this liquid gold called Argan.
We'll move on to Tnin Ourika, one of the major Berber Souks in the area, where all the Ourika Valley villagers gather once a week to barter and purchase their wares. From here, we will drive alongside the Ourika Valley to the Berber community of Setti Fatma.
Upon arrival, Local hiking guides are available for hire to walk you to several spectacular falls and back. or just relax at one of the riverfront cafés and spend the day listening to the murmur of the stream with the High Atlas Mountains as a backdrop. Return to Marrakech late in the afternoon, where your day excursion to Ourika Valley will conclude with a drop-off at your hotel or Jamaa Elfna Square.
